The building, object of the renovation, dates back to the 60’s and for about thirty years it has been the seat of Poste e Telecomunicazioni’s Administrative Offices: in the recent years a part of the ground floor has hosted a restaurant and some shops while the remaining part of the building was run down.
The building has a floor surface of about 900 square meters and it is made up of two well distinct but connected blocks: a low block with irregular plan and a tower of 18th floors over ground and two more rooms.
The particularity of this intervention is concentrated on the outside. The project provided for the covering of the existing building, without demolition of the original façade, through a ventilated façade made of natural black stone, which wraps the tower element in all its height and a good part of the lower body like a skin; the latter covered in Allucobond with ribbon windows.
